Society Meetings are held nine times per year, in the months of January, February, March, April, May, August, September, October and November. Each meeting is on the second Saturday of the month, at 1:30 PM. We hope to see you there!

A Christmas Social will be held at the home of Jackie Field at 12:30 PM. Note the different time and place. Bring an appetizer, salad, fruit, vegetable or dessert dish. Meeting at 1:30 PM, Bedford Public Library. The speaker will be Connie Lapallo, author from Mechanicsville, VA. She will be speaking on the second book in her series, When the Moon Has No More Silver. The beginning of the Jamestown Colony was a difficult time when in the winter of 1609-1610 only 60 people survived until spring. Click HERE for more information.

Again this year we will have a SURNAME sharing time. Members and visitors alike are invited to attend, bring family information about the lines you are researching and share with the group. Last year, when this was done, proved to be a very informative time for the Society.

Laura Davis, LVA will return to scan Civil War Documents 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. There will be a break at 1:30 p.m. for Sergei Trubetzkoy, Director of the Bedford Visitors Center, and Ms. Davis to speak to the Society about the state-side Civil War Scanning Project.
